The following itineraries are samples only and may be of assistance to you in planning your holiday. Please note that itineraries will change depending on the time of year and whether it is daylight savings time.

7 Night Sample Itinerary

The average 7 night trip would allow you to travel from Mannum to Swan Reach and return. This is approximately a 200km round trip.

Day One

Board the houseboat at 3pm. Once settled the instructor will take you through the boat and show you where everything is, how it works and teach you to drive it. You can then head off start your journey along the river and tie up before sunset.

Day Two

Travel to Bowhill (4.5 hours). Perhaps stop for lunch and continue on through the afternoon and moor up at Walker Flat (3 hours) for the evening, ready for your tour the next day.

Day Three

Pick up at 9am for your Barossa Valley Winery/Golf Tour or Banrock Station Winery and Wetlands Tour. Enjoy the day experiencing other spectacular regions of South Australia before being dropped back to your houseboat at 5pm, possibly with a few great South Australian wines! (Bookings essential, additional charge applies).

Day Four

Travel from Walker Flat to Big Bend (2.5 hours), stay for the night and enjoy the Big Bend By Night Tour or a Sunset Dinner Tour (bookings essential, additional charge applies).

Day Five

Enjoy a Champagne and Bush Tucker Breakfast to start the day then travel up to Swan Reach (2 hours) and stop at the Swan Reach Hotel for lunch or dinner. (Bookings essential and additional charge applies for Bush Tucker Breakfast).

Day Six

Enjoy the day cruising back downstream for approximately 6 hours and find a mooring between Walker Flat and Bowhill.

Day Seven

Continue travelling downstream for approximately 6 hours to the township of Mannum and moor overnight in the township or at a secluded location just downstream from the Unforgettable Marina. To celebrate your last night onboard you could enjoy a gourmet meal with our 5 star onboard catering chef.

Day Eight

Return to marina to disembark by 10am.

Board houseboat at 3pm. Once settled on the instructor will take you through the boat and show you where everything is, how it works and teach you to drive it. You can then head off start your journey along the river and tie up before sunset.

Day Two

Travel to Bowhill (4.5 hours). Perhaps stop for lunch then continue travelling a short distance upstream to find a secluded mooring for the night near the spectacular sandstone cliffs.

(To include a Barossa Valley Winery tour in a 4 night holiday, you would need to stay at Bowhill tonight ready to be picked up from this township at 9am the following morning.)

Day Three

Travel from Bowhill to Walker Flat (3 hours). Perhaps moor at the small township and walk up to the lookout for magnificent panoramic views of the river. You could enjoy a picnic lunch on the picturesque lawned area then travel back downstream to find a mooring for the night.

Day Four

Continue to travel downstream to past Bowhill and Younghusband before mooring around the township of Mannum. For your last night onboard you could enjoy a gourmet meal with our 5 star onboard catering chef.

Day Five

Return to the marina to disembark by 10am.

Day Two

Travel upstream at your leisure enjoying the spectacular scenery before finding a secluded mooring for the night around the township of Bowhill (4.5 hours).

Day Three

Travel back downstream before mooring around the township of Mannum. For your last night onboard you could enjoy a gourmet meal with our 5 star onboard catering chef, or perhaps enjoy dinner at the local hotel.

Day Four

Return to the marina to disembark by 10am.
